The Shire of Chapman Valley has received an application seeking to develop an Ammonium Nitrate Manufacturing & Storage Facility upon Lots 11 & 12 North West Coastal Highway, Oakajee.

‘Industry’ is listed in the Shire of Chapman  Valley Local Planning Scheme No.3, within the ‘Strategic Industry – Oakajee Industrial Area C (Strategic)’ zone, as an application that must be advertised and the Shire is inviting comment upon this application.

Submissions must be received before close of Wednesday 26 March 2025 and can be emailed to cso@chapmanvalley.wa.gov.au or mailed to PO Box 1, Nabawa, WA, 6532.

The application and received submissions will be presented to the meeting of Council that will be held on Monday 28th April 2025 at the Council Chambers, 3270 Chapman Valley Road, Nabawa commencing at 4.00pm and is open to the public should you wish to attend.

Please note that this application will be determined by a Development Assessment Panel (DAP) that is administered by the State Department for Planning, Lands & Heritage. The purpose of the 28th April 2025 Council meeting will be to formulate a recommendation to the DAP and not to make a final determination on this matter.
