In accordance with section 6.11 (2) of the Local Government Act 1995, where a Local Government resolves to change the purpose of a reserve account or use the money in a reserve account for another purpose, it must give one month’s local public notice of the proposed change of purpose or proposed use.
The Shire of Chapman Valley proposes to change the name and purpose of its Computer & Office Equipment Reserve Fund containing $40,182 as of 30th April 2024 to “Communications & Information Technologies Reserve” to be used fund the upgrade and replacement of the Shire’s Communications & Information Technologies.
The objects of, and reasons for the change are due to the Purpose & Description not suiting the changing dynamic of information technologies and communications requirements. Council have identified similar areas of communication & information technology which could potentially require financial assistance in the future.
