Nukara Music Festival
The Nukara Music Festival is held each year at the beautiful Nukara Farm located on Howatharra Road near the small Nanson Hamlet. The Festival joins the community together to celebrate music, local and WA musicians. Nukara Farm is an eco-retreat, with a Spring fed creek that flows through the venue sustaining a diverse ecosystem. The venue is amazing and unique to the Mid West region with its flat top hills, big River Red Gums, and endangered species such as the Carnaby Black Cockatoo.
Nukara provides a prefect venue, and casual atmosphere that 'draws' a diverse audience of all ages and nationalities. A variety of activities and events have been incorporated into the Nukara Music Festival to engage and inspire the community in arts and culture, while also providing a valuable opportunity to promote the preservation of special bush land areas and a sense of peace.
Over the past five years the festival has included dance, fire dance, local cultural performances [including Welcome to Country ceremony, smoking ceremony, and Indigenous performers], and the promotion of local talent/artists/performers.
The Festival’s aim is to promote local original artists, and build community and awareness through active participation in music, art, culture and our natural environment. To find out more visit Nukara Farm online at www.nukarafarm.com.au or Phone Donna or Phil Blakeway on 9920 5015
The Redhill Concert is held each year around April on the grounds of the beautiful Redhill Farm. Redhill Farm was once a thriving local winery before closing its cellar doors. These days thousands of concert goers attend Redhill to enjoy its annual Concert, which has featured critically acclaimed local, national and international acts. Staged by the Rotary Club of Geraldton- Greenough the annual Concert is a major fundraising event for the club.
Redhill Concert provides an excellent opportunity to relax and enjoy good wine, food and company. For more information log on to www.redhillconcert.com.au.
The regatta is held on an irregular basis as it is dependent upon dam water levels and availability of community volunteers.
If you would like to hold an event, contact the Shire's Planning Department for an Events Application Form.
